Gardening time!!

I've been wanting to start a garden ever since we moved into our house almost two years ago. Theres a great area on the east side of our house all ready for us to start, so we finally got to it! Man, we both thought this would be my little project, which turned out to be Darin's HUGE project and I would do what I could to help while trying to watch Casen too. My dad came over and helped with a water system last week, and on Saturday we started planting all kinds of vegetables. I think we are in for a lot more work than we thought. We got lettuce, cabbage, tomato's, onions, broccoli, bell peppers, Jalapenos, Raspberries, Blackberries, & strawberries, plus we planted some carrot seeds too. Doesn't all of that just sound overwhelming. This is our first garden too, so we will see how it turns out. Anyone have any tips?

This is only four of the eleven rows we need to plant. We have a lot more work to do this week.

Casen hanging out, eating a snack and watching us work.

That looks GREAT! I need to figure out how to get rid of the bugs before I try to start one again. How fun.

I am impressed! Way to be self-sufficient! Now I know where to come to get fresh produce!

Awesome! I am so glad this is not just me being crazy and that everyone has gardens! I actually sell some of the stuff I grow at the Chandler Farmers Market, but I also install raised beds for people who want to have gardens, but don't like the hard start-up work. BTW, Amanda, email Natalie again with the bugs you have and I will tell you a good organic way to get rid of them. ( www.boglefamilyfarms.blogspot.com )
