California

This picture is my favorite. Our room we stayed in had mirrors on the closet doors and he would just talk to himself in the mirror and act silly. It was hilarious. He didn't know I was taking a picture of him, he just happened to be looking away from the mirror while smiling and laughing at himself. Funny kid.

We took a short but very memorable trip to Cali last week. Our friends Matt & Melissa, invited us to come and spend a few nights with them at their time share in Palm Springs. Why not? Even though the temps are the same as the valley. Oh well, it was still really fun. We drove late Wednesday night and went straight to bed. Thursday we woke up and ate an awesome breakfast thanks to Melissa, then went to the childrens hands on museum. Casen had so much fun running around and looking at everything and all the other kids. Later that day Melissa and I went to some thrift stores and found some great things. We had fun staying up late playing games and laughing. Late Friday morning we were on our way to San Diego. We were planning on going to the zoo once we got there, but ended up using the pool at the hotel instead. Maybe next time we are in SD we will see their zoo. Saturday we met up with Darin's brother Ryan and Jami at La Jolla beach for some fun in the sun, and it was just that. Casen had sooo much fun on the beach like I thought he would. We had fun watching him dip crackers in the sand then eat them, chase the birds all around, and play in the sand. He liked the water, but wanted to be held most of the time because it was kind of cold. A few hours later he fell asleep while Darin was holding him in the water. We let him sleep for a while then packed up and started to drive home. We took the long way home so we could stop at the outlets and made it home around midnight. The boys were so good and Casen had so much fun. I was worried it wouldn't be a very fun vacation since Casen was a little sick when we left and we didn't know how both boys would be, but it turned out to be so much fun. I'm glad we were able to getaway. I didn't take very many pictures. I was going to get a family picture while we were at the beach but Casen fell asleep. Oh well.
